Students concentrating in a non-science area may wish to take one or two extra science courses to demonstrate their interest and aptitude in the sciences. Students are encouraged to pursue a concentration or major in any field that appeals to them. There is no concentration or major preferred by medical school admissions committees. This coursework can be completed during the undergraduate years along with the Core Curriculum and the major or concentration. All health professional schools require prerequisite coursework, but the specific coursework can vary somewhat from program to program and school to school. 21 dental, and other health professional schools prefer that undergraduates complete a four-year program of study culminating in a bachelor’s degree.
